Local Development Scheme
A programme for the preparation of the Ryedale Plan is outlined within the Council's Local Development Scheme (LDS). It identifies the new documents which together will form the Ryedale Plan and the timescales over which they will be prepared. Each year the District Council is required to update this programme to take account of work that has taken place in the preceding year.
The purpose of the LDS is to:
highlight the current planning policies for the District;
identify which new documents will be produced to replace current policies over the next three years;
establish the timescale over which these documents will be produced; and
identify the consultation 'milestones' to inform people about the opportunities to become involved in the policy making process.
Over time the LDS will be reviewed and become a rolling programme of policy/plan production that will ensure that the Council's planning framework is continually up to date.
